Competition Guidelines

A. PARTICIPATION QUALIFICATION

1. Participants must be current undergraduate students.
   
2. Students from all Bioscience programmes are welcomed to join.
3. Participants must register using the registration form available on the website (https://shorturl.at/pzJPU ).
4. Deadline for the oral & poster presenter registration is on 17th November 2023.
5. Deadline for the abstract submission for oral & poster presentation is on 24th November 2023.
6. Deadline for the participants registration is on 22nd November 2023.
   
7. Oral/poster presenters must ensure that they have made payment for the registration fee and are properly registered as participants.
8. Registration fee is not refundable, except with valid reason.
   
9. The topic of presentation must be related to biochemistry and molecular biology.
   
10. All categories will be conducted in English.

B. COMPETITION CATEGORY

1. Oral Presentation

Participants are required to prepare and submit the following:

1.1 Abstract

• The abstract must be submitted in PDF format by 24th November 2023 using the abstract submission link on the IBS 2023 website under the Competitions section. Name the PDF document according to the following format: University Name_Participant’s Name_Category
  
• Please refer to the abstract template in the abstract submission form on the website of IBS under the Competitions section.

1.2 Presentation

• Presenters will be given TEN (10) minutes to present their work with a FIVE (5) minutes Q&A at the end of the session.
  

2. Poster presentation

Participants are required to prepare and submit the following:

2.1 Abstract

• Abstract must be submitted via abstract submission link on the website of IBS by 24th November 2023.
  
• Use the following format to name the PDF document: Name of University | Name of Participant | Category (e.g., UKM | Siti Fatimah | Poster).
• Please refer to the abstract template in the abstract submission form on the website of IBS under the Competitions section.

2.2 Poster guidelines

• Posters must be designed according to the following format:
  

i.All posters have to be printed in portrait orientation at A1 size.

ii.Orientation: Portrait Style

iii.Poster Section: Title, Authors, Affiliation, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion, References.

iv.Font size: The poster should be readable at a distance of 2 meters. Use UPPER case for HEADINGS and lower case for general content. Avoid using a mixture of type/font styles. Font size 48 to 60 points is recommended for headings.

* Content: Insert all necessary information/data into the poster.
